If there is, this seems like it would be a great tool for undoing any damage to the phone that isn't hardware related (the documentation says this part resides on a read only chip)

What I want to know is, is there a way to put the device back into the QDLoader or other QPST related modes so as to either update the firmware again, or just make backups for future use? The programs also makes reference to debug and other modes, but there isn't a lot of documentation on the internet. The QPST (Qualcomm Product Support Tool) Software suite, as well as other less useful links about the LGFlash tool, etc.

Searching the internet, I found several things. However, when plugging it into my computer, it showed up as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader" which seemed interesting. Nexus 5 QPST/QDLoader Mode So, messing around with kernels and stuff, I wound up with a bricked device (wouldn't turn on, no response to anything, etc )

does anyone know how to identify the test point and GND on the system board? system board out and chips exposed) but the pin layout doesnt match either the G3 or G2 (because its a G3A). So i got pretty far along the guide all the way down to shorting the test point (i.e. i saw something like this but this is much more descriptive. Or if you have any other suggestions as to how I might fix it, or force it into QHSUSB mode another way? most ways I know need root or DL mode in order to mess with the boot partitions but happy to be corrected. Does anyone know where the test point is on the G3A system board? The only way I can think of is to open up the phone and short the test point on the system board to get it into QHSUSB mode and reflash the entire thing using the tools that are out there for the G3. So I cant update firmware, flash to stock, root the device, anything useful or fun at all. I cant seem to get it into fastboot mode either, presumably because the LAF partition is not empty, its just broken. Trying to get the phone into download mode just locks up the device and the PC doesnt detect it. Now I have no way of re-rooting it, and since I cant root it I cant get permissions to reflash the LAF partition using 'dd'. I have seriously borked my G3A in the process of rooting and unrooting it, and have somehow messed up the LAF partition and unrooted the phone at the same time.
